Clinical Supervisor - Surgery and Procedural Admissions/ Recovery
Swedish Medical Center has a great opportunity for an experienced nurse leader. The Clinical Supervisor for the Surgery & Procedural Admissions and Recovery/ PACU units at Cherry Hill Campus will oversee the daily operations of the departments by maintaining appropriate staffing for pre/post care, manage workflow, and attend to overall department needs. Responsibilities
Responsible for Surgical and Procedural Admissions Unit and PACU and Postoperative areas, including PACU Phase I & II, and for creating an environment that fosters a multidisciplinary team and collaborative approach to care that achieves operational and clinical âBest Practiceâ. Participates with the Manager for overseeing all aspects of the care delivery system and works organizationally to improve service. Participates with the Manager to create and implement an operational budget annually, monitoring performance monthly. Responsible for leading, coaching, mentoring, and modeling Service Excellence behaviors to Charge Nurses and staff. Responsible with the Manager for performing probationary and annual evaluations and developing expectations for staff in order to reach âBest Practiceâ. Responsible with the Manager for hiring and overseeing orientation of new employees. Works collaboratively with physician leaders to develop methods for improving the quality of care overall.

Qualifications
Nursing Baccalaureate degree from an accredited school of nursing required. Applicants without a BSN may be considered at the discretion of the Admin Director SHVI and Surgical Services. The applicant must begin actively pursuing a BSN within two years of hire. Masterâs degree preferred in nursing or related field.
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington. Current BLS, and ACLS certification.
Must have five years of current clinical experience with three years of PACU, Critical Care or Emergency care preferred. Preadmission experience desired. Demonstrates clinical knowledge and leadership qualities. At least two years of Supervisory or Charge Nurse experience required. Experience at Manager level preferred.
Must demonstrate clinical and organizational skills related to the care of PreOperative/Pre Procedural and PeriAnesthesia patients. Must have knowledge of human growth and development to modify services to the age and development state of the patient. Able to read, write, understand and communicate in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Able to exercise considerable discretion in managing daily workload, patient flow and staffing within budget and standard of care. Strong ability to collaborate, communicate, negotiate, and interact with individuals and groups of diverse size and composition. Excellent customer service skills are essential. Ability to implement operational changes to meet budget targets. Knowledge of federal, state, and local requirements and regulations regarding hospitals and patient care.
Ability to set priorities and demonstrate time management skills. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively. Ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with perioperative clinical staff, physicians, managers and directors.
