KEY REQUIREMENTS

DUTIES:
The successful candidate for this full time VA must be certified by the American! Board of Radiology at the time of application and must have completed a fellowship in body imaging. In addition must have documented scholarly activities and publications suitable for appointment to the faculty of the Radiology Department at the University of Washington. Continuation of scholarly activities along clinician-teacher or clinician-research pathways at the University of Washington is required.

This position is assigned under the Director of Diagnostic Imaging. The incumbent will function as an equal member within the larger team of staff radiologists in the Diagnostic Imaging Service Line. Individuals with specialized fellowship training in a particular subspecialty may be assigned director responsibilities for that subspecialty and may function as the primary radiologist responsible for formulating policy, procedures and education impacting the daily clinical operations and patient care under that subspecialty. The incumbent will be responsible for pe! rforming formal study interpretation, radiologic procedures and consult! ation within the sub-modalities of computed tomography, general radiography including fluoroscopy, eg. G/I, G/U, magnetic resonance imaging, Ultrasonography, CT/MR angiography, US/Ct guided biopsy, musculoskeletal MRI, joint injections. The incumbent will assist, train, supervise and mentor radiology residents in the performance of radiographic procedures. The incumbent will provide education and training to members of the medical staff through various conferences, committees and lecture series.

The incumbent will participate in clinical conferences for optimizing patient care. The incumbent may be assigned administrative or managerial responsibilities through participation in clinical, educational and administrative committees, task groups or special projects as needed by the service line.

The selected candidate will work Monday - Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with on-call duties required (evenings/weekends), as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
BASIC REQUIREMENTS

:

(a)

Citizenship - Citizen of the United States.

(b)

Education - Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.

The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.

(c)

Licensure and Registration - Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the

United States

, or in the

District of Columbia

.

The physician must maintain current registration in the State of licensure if this is a requirement for continuing active, current licensure.

The! facility Director may waive this licensure requirement if the physicia! n is to serve in a country other than the

United States

and the physician has licensure in that country.
