Must pass pre-employment examination.

DUTIES:
The Mann-Grandstaff VAMC in Spokane W! ashington is seeking a Board Certified/Board Ready Oncologist/! Hematologist with a commitment to excelence in patient care in hematology and oncology. Position is relatd to both inpatient and outpatient, mostly outpatient.
The physician performs oncology examinations on patients that are referred via outpatient and inpatient consults; provides ongoing outpatient and inpatient care for patients that have been referred; screens patients to determine further need for care; prescribes medications within defined scope of practice; orders diagnostic studies; carries out health promotion and disease studies; dictates notes on examinations and procedures performed; provides education and counseling of patients and families in preventive care, medical conditions, and use of prescribed treatments and drugs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
May require occasional lifting; moderate carrying, standing, walking, and kneeling; pushing/pulling; the use of fingers on both hands; ability to reach above shoulders; repeated bending; cli! mbing; using legs and arms; ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously; near vision correctable; far vision correctable; depth perception; ability to distinguish basic color and shades of colors; and hearing (hearing aid permitted).
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
In
order to qualify for this position you must meet the following:
Basic Requirements
:
Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
Citizen of the United States.
Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education i
n medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Board El! igible/Certified.
