PACU RN- full-time 40 hours per week.
This position is responsible for providing nursing care to the Ambulatory Surgery Center p! atients during admission, OR/Procedure, and recovery processes under the guidance of the physician, utilizing the ASC standing orders, and in accordance with department policies and procedures. Responsibilities include providing optimal patient care with positive outcomes while observing cost containment and safety issues.
ASC, Endoscopy, PACU, OR, ER, ICU, and/or experience preferred. Recovery for conscious sedation.
DUTIES
Participates in daily operational duties including inventory and stocking of daily supplies; equipment set-up, take down, and cleaning; chart preparation; answering phones; medication ordering and receipt; narcotic counting and safekeeping.
- Participation in quality assurance projects, staff inservices and meetings, equipment maintenance, medication outdate checks and crash cart inventory.
- The RN assumes responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing, directing, supervising and evaluating direct and ! indirect nursing of patients throughout patient stay.
- Greets patients and escort, introduces patient to unit, maintains patient chart forms, clarifies and completes patient history, takes admit VS, educates patient about planned procedure(s) and post procedure period, places IV and administers IV fluid(s) as ordered.
- Provides nursing care to patient during recovery phase, monitors patient according to center policies and takes appropriate measures based on nursing assessment and physician orders. Ensures patient discharge teaching is complete, appropriate and documented.
- Other duties may be assigned by department leads, managers or health care providers to promote efficiency and enhance customer service.
- Current WA state RN licensure.
- Maintains current BLS and ACLS certification. PALS preferred.
- Recent patient care experienced required.
- ASC, Endoscopy, PACU, OR, ER, and/or ICU experience preferred.
- Conscious sedation experience p! referred.
- Computer skills required.
