Description: WashingtonAdventistHospital is hiring NeuroSurgery Mid Level Provider / PA or NP Full Time Experience Preferred right now, this career will be placed in Washington. Detailed specification about this career opportunity please read the description below. Responsibilities
1. Performs neat and thorough history and physical examination in a timely mann! er.
2. Collaborates with appropriate ancillary departments, physicians, peers, and support staff to ensure proper screening and laboratory studies are done relevant to the patient's medical and surgical background.
3. Demonstrates the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patient's needs, having knowledge of normal growth and development and understanding the range of treatment needed by Patient in the department's scope of care.
4. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the care of the post-op and/or post ¿op patient.
5. When needed - collaborates with the emergency room staff to Pre-Op and Post-Op physicals for
emergent surgical cases.
6. Maintains role/specialty competencies as well as keeping current with changes in practice,
i.e., new equipment, new medications, treatment changes.
7. Actively participates in departmental peer review, staff meetings, and inservices
8. Collaborates across continuum with dire! ct care providers and administrative team members to coordinat! e services and promote service line growth and development.
9. Demonstrates dedication to one's professional growth
10. May apply surgical skills and knowledge required to act as first assistant in the OR.
Qualifications
a. Board eligible or have passed the National Certification Examination for Physician Assistants and/or Nurse Practitioner.
b. Certification by the Maryland State Board of Physician Quality Assurance and approval of their job description by the Maryland State Board of Physician quality Assurance.
c. Approval by the chief of Surgery, Credentials Committee, Executive Committee, Active Medical Staff, and Board of Directors.
d. Must become Affiliate Member of the Medical Staff and comply with applicable by-laws, rules, and regulations of the Medical Staff and such policies and procedures approved by the Executive Committee may apply.
e. Must maintain 100 hours of certified continuing medical education every 2 years for continued ! employment. At least one year of surgical training and/or experience.
