The VA Puget Sound Health Care System located in Seattle, Washington and the Department of Radiology at the University of Washington are recruiting a full-time physician without tenure at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor to join our Diagnostic Imaging Service (DIS) as Staff Radiologist. The position will be located at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System with 100% of hours spent! working for the VA hospital.
The successful candidateÂ's responsibilities include clinical coverage of the diagnostic imaging service. The candidate is expected to contribute to weekly interdepartmental clinical conferences, including Tumor Board, Urology, GI-Surgery, Orthopedics, Medicine, Hepatology and Rheumatology. Instruction of radiology technology students, medical students, residents, and body imaging fellows will be required. The candidate will take on administrative duties in addition to teaching, clinical, and research responsibilities, and will include regular and after hour coverage of VA Puget Sound Health Care System at Seattle and American Lake Divisions.
Succesful candidates for this position must hold an M.D. or equivalent degree in the field and possess or be eligible for full medical licensure in Washington State.
Successful candidates must hold American Board of Radiology certification, and must have completed one of the foll! owing fellowships: Body Imaging, Musculoskeletal or Chest at an ACGME a! ccredited institution.Candidate must have experience performing/interpreting radiographs, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance (MR) imaging, Ultrasound and GI/GU fluoroscopic procedures.Proficiency in body CT, MRI, US, CT/MR angiography, US/CT guided biopsy, musculoskeletal MRI, joint infections, and GI/GU fluoroscopy is required.A demonstrable track record of academic productivity and teaching is required with scholarly activities and publications suitable for appointment to the faculty of the Radiology Department at the University of Washington.Continuation of scholarly activities along the clinician-teacher or clinician-research pathway at the University of Washington is required.
The selected candidate will work Monday - Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with on-call duties required (evenings/weekends), as necessary.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS :
(a) Citizenship - Citizen of the United States.
(b) Education - Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
(c) Licensure and Registration - Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States , or in the District of Columbia . The physician must maintain current registration in the State of licensure if this is a requirement for continuing active, current licensure. The facility Director may waive this licensure requirement if the physician is to serve in a country other than the United States and the physician has licensure in that country.
(d) Englis! h Language Proficiency - Physicians, including residents, appointed to ! direct patient-care positions must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d).
