Swedish Medical Center is looking for a full time Risk Reduction Officer for the Quality and Patient Safety Department at the ! Swedish First Hill Campus in Seattle, WA. The Risk Reduction Officer is responsible for patient safety with primary responsibilities related to support of the Swedish patient safety team as well as support of the Culture of Safety Initiative. This position is part of the Department of Quality and Patient Safety and reports to the VP of Quality and Patient Safety.
In this position you will: Evaluate variance reports Perform root cause analysis and Healthcare Failure Mode Effect Analysis and investigations for serious safety events in support of the patient safety program Participate and lead quality and safety meetings throughout the organization Review and analyze safety trends and help guide strategic planning and prioritization for quality and safety related initiatives Participate in the development, management, coordination and implementation of educational programs and learning events related to furthering Swedish’ Culture of Safety Initiative Qual! ificationsRequired qualifications for this position include: B! achelor of Science degree in Nursing Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington Minimum of two years of clinical experience Experience in Project Management Experience in change management with internal and external customers including physicians, staff, managers, and directors Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Windows environment, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Internet Explorer, email and general PC data entry. Operation of routine office equipment (telephone, fax, voicemail, photocopiers, printers, etc.) Familiarity with basics of patient safety in a healthcare environment Knowledgeable in just culture principles Seasoned in adult education principles in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of program and educational activities; and with the ability to learn and apply techniques for root cause analysis and process improvement Preferred qualifications for this position include: Master’s degree in nursing, bu! siness, education, hospital administration or related field Process improvement experience and training About the First Hill Campus.
