We are currently seeking candidates for a Director ! of Perioperative and Birth Center Services. This position provides leadership, direction and management to the Surgical Services and Birth Center Departments to ensure the delivery of quality care and administrative management.

The Director will provide planning, leadership, direction and management to ensure business growth and consistent delivery of quality care and service. In this position you will:
Oversee or manage department operations to achieve goals within budgeted funds and ava! ilable personnel
Provide leadership and oversee/assist Man! agers in the selection, supervision and evaluation of staff. Conduct and oversee performance evaluations and initiate and/or implement disciplinary action as required
Ensure that written policies, procedures, work rules and standards are developed, reviewed, and updated in accordance with evidence-based practices
Consult with and advise Chief Nurse Executive, Medical Chiefs of Anesthesia and Surgery, and Medical Director of Birth Center Services regarding issues related to the operation of the departments
Assist Managers to determine departmental patient care quality improvement goals and define metrics as related to process improvement
Ensure development of departmental reports; record, collect, review and analyze statistical data for administrative and regulatory purposes
Promote educational opportunities for employees and implement process to maintain staff competency
Required qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degr! ee in Nursing or related field. If Master's Degree is not in nursing, must have Nursing Baccalaureate degree (BSN)
Current WA state license as a Registered Nurse
Basic Life Support certification
Recent clinical experience which includes management or leadership in a healthcare/nursing organization
This position requires excellent interpersonal skills to relate to physicians and other team members, patients and family members. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Knowledge of Joint Commission, State, Federal and local requirements and regulations related to areas of responsibility. Demonstrated clinical skills and knowledge of patient care techniques for patients in a variety of age groups. Ability to develop and manage department budgets and staffing levels. Ability to identify and resolve a variety of issues. Knowledge of effective managerial principles/techniques and clinical systems. Ability to develop and implement plans and pr! ograms. Ability to respond and adapt to change. Ability to lead change ! in the organization. Ability to perform the physical demands of the position, as well as the essential job functions.
