As a Director of Scientific Affairs you will function as a clinical/scientific expert supports Companyâs product(s) in the areas of surgical coverage, follow-up, and customer service. You will serve as education l! iaison between internal and external customers. The Scientific Affairs Director will collaborate with Marketing and Sales management to develop scientific strategies to optimize products and development activities in the medical community. You will coordinate the development of symposia and continuing education seminars for health care providers as well as deliver approved presentations at regional POAs, sales training, advisory board meetings and speaker training activities. You will identify, develop and maintain relationships with health care providers and attend medical and scientific meetings with the goals of maintaining awareness of current issues and new data; developing and maintaining relationships with health care providers; supporting the appropriate use of Companyâs products; and supporting our representatives in answering provider questions.
Requirements: Professional degree from an accredited college or university in health/biological scienc! es with appropriate professional licensure (ex: RN, RD, RPh/Ph! armD). Minimum of 5 years relevant clinical practice; a minimum of 4 years scientific affairs field experience; minimum of 3 years relevant clinical research experience and minimum of 3 years health economics and outcomes research experience are required. Proven record of successfully servicing hospital personnel on product use in a specialty area such as plastic surgery, abdominal surgery, orthopedics, or pain management.
Successful candidate will bring expertise in leveraging pharmacoeconomic and outcomes research data in the appropriate clinical context. In addition the candidate will have demonstrated pharmaceutical research and project management skills; excellent verbal and written English communication and presentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with sales and health care professionals. A demonstrated ability to coach/educate health care professionals on the use of products is necessary. The ability to travel extensively (approx. 60%), a va! lid driverâs license in the state in which you reside, and strong working knowledge of MSOffice including Word and Outlook are required.
