The University of Washington (UW) and Seattle Childrenâs Hospital (SCH) , in conjunction with MultiCare Health System is searching for! a full time, non-tenured Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgeon at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor level within the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, University of Washington Department of Surgery, to lead our program at Mary Bridge Childrenâs Hospital and Health Center in Tacoma, WA. Prospective candidates must have MD degree and be board certified/eligible (or foreign equivalent). Scholarly and research interests are highly desirable. Candidates must possess a strong desire to lead. They will be expected to assume the administrative responsibilities, perform pediatric cardiac surgical operations, provide outpatient clinical services, and participate in medical student and fellow teaching both at the Mary Bridge and Seattle Childrenâs locations. (S)he will work closely with the faculty at the UW, as well as with other surgical faculty members in the departments of Cardiovascular Sciences, Pediatrics, Surgery, Anesthesia and Critical Care at Mary ! Bridge.
The MultiCare Mary Bridge Childrenâs Hospit! al is a state-of-the-art, 82-bed pediatric hospital with all private patient rooms (24 PICU and 58 Medical-Surgical beds), in a modern, family-centered environment. It is co-located with MultiCare Tacoma General Hospital which has a 40-bed NICU and 30-bed Intermediate Care Nursery.
Selected candidate will be supported by SCH and Mary Bridge to build the program to a state-of-the-art regional Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgical service.
This opportunity will be supported by the Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery section at SCH and appropriate specialty supportive roles.
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
