Responsibilities
The Clinical Nurse Coordinator in our General Oncology- Sarcoma department is responsible for the nursing management of patients seen in the Sarcoma Clinic which includes Surgical and Medical Oncology patients. This position includes monitoring of clinic flow, monitoring LPN’s and MA’s while in clinic. Oversees the pre operative teaching, post operative care and the gathering of patient information. Works with the Sarcoma team to ensure the education of patients regarding chemotherapy treatments, radiation treatment and central line education. Assist with the triaging of phone calls for patient concerns, referring providers offices and works with physicians to carry out the patient’s treatment plan.
Qualifications
- Current Washington State Nursing License required
- Current BLS AHA Health Provider card required
- Two-years nursing experience in general oncology required
- Strongly prefer nursing experience in surgery
- Broad understanding of surgical procedures and the nursing management of these patients before and after surgery.
- Chemotherapy knowledge a plus .
