Well-established group seeks a ninth BC/BE neonatologist to join a physician/neonatal nurse practitioner team in scenic Spokane, Washington. Coverage is provided at two Level-III NICUS, Sacred Heart Medical C! enter and Deaconess Medical Center.
Sacred Heart’s 52-bed unit averages up to 45 babies daily, and has approximately 700 admissions per year. Nearly 3,000 babies are born at this facility annually. The unit offers high frequency, conventional and oscillator ventilation and iNO is also available. Occasional well newborn services are provided. Additionally, this hospital has an open heart surgery program. The 34-bed unit at Deaconess has an average daily census of 25, and approximately 500 admissions per year. This hospital has nearly 2,200 births annually. Services at Deaconess include high frequency and conventional oscillators, and iNO is available.
A local transport company transfers about 200 babies yearly to Sacred Heart, and about 100 babies to Deaconess; ECMO and transplant patients are transferred to facilities in Seattle and Portland. Both hospitals, located about a mile apart, provide maternal-fetal medicine and full pediatric subspecialist supp! ort. Call coverage is from home. Our group actively participat! es in quality improvement programs offered by our national group. These programs meet quality assurance requirements for neonatal board recertification. We also participate in Vermont-Oxford and perform perinatal outreach in rural communities.
