We have an excellent opportunity for a TEMPORARY/HOURLY MEDICAL SOCIAL WORKER to provide services to inpatients in surgery services at UWMC. Duties include assessments, discharge planning, support to patients and families, and interdisciplinary care planning. Skills req! uired include clinical insight, an ability to be comfortable w! orking with persons with significant medical issues, a collaborative nature, strong multitasking and organizational abilities and demonstrated customer service skills. Knowledge of health care resources and experience in a hospital environment preferred. Social Work-led department with Social Work supervision, supportive colleagues, and an excellent reputation.
Masters degree in social work required. Top candidates will have experience with discharge planning. Licensure as a Social Worker or Social Work Associate in Washington State required within 90 days of employment.
Requirements:
A Master of Social Work Degree from a program accredited by the Council of Social Work Education AND six months of experience in a health care delivery system. Health care experience can include a practicum placement as part of a social work training program and/or employment experience.
Legal Requirement - Licensure as a Social Worker or Social Work Assoc! iate in Washington State within 90 days of employment.
