In 2010, the Wall Street Journal recognized Kirkland as one of the top ten most walkable suburbs in the country.Offer DetailsIncome Details: We offer a competitive salary and benefits package with an excellent working environment which fosters open communication and team work.Relocation Paid: CALL FOR INFOVacation: CALL FOR INFOCME: CALL FOR INFOJob DescriptionVirginia Mason Medical Center, a multispecialty group practice and tertiary referral center, is currently ! seeking a third full-time thoracic surgeon to expand services ! within the Puget Sound area and build a thoracic program in partnership with a major medical center in the East Side of Seattle.Virginia Mason’s thoracic program includes two thoracic surgeons, thoracic oncology nurse, thoracic surgery ARNP, as well as board certified physicians in pulmonary medicine, gastroenterology, cardiac surgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery, radiation oncologists, and radiologists with specific interest in the treatment and research of lung and esophageal cancer. To support the thoracic program Virginia Mason has nationally recognized resident and fellowship training programs in anesthesiology, internal medicine, general surgery, research, and an affiliation with the Benaroya Research Center. Thoracic cases will be performed in the surgical suites of EvergreenHealth and Virginia Mason Medical Center, dependent upon the complexity of the cases and the healthcare team.Virginia Mason is known for patient-centric care by improving quality and ! safety and is dedicated to achieving superior outcomes for patients.
Thoracic practice includes all aspects of open and minimally invasive chest and abdominal surgery as well as robotics. Thoracic services at Virginia Mason do not include lung transplantation or acute trauma. We are an integrated team of thoracic surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, pulmonologists, gastroenterologists, radiologists, pathologists, nurses and technicians working to provide every patient the highest level of evaluation, treatment and individual support available anywhere. We conduct a weekly multidisciplinary thoracic Tumor Board.Ideal candidates should be thoracic-fellowship trained and have at least 3-5 years of experience, although new cardiothoracic graduates will be considered.
