Functions as a member of the patient care delivery team, under the guidance of a perioperative nurse, by assisting with preparation of patients and operating rooms for surgical procedures; the core values of Compassion, Excellence, Integrity, Teamwork, Safety and Respect are integrated comprehensively into the work environment; maintains current competency requirements, both initial and targeted.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent plus up to 12 months ! training after high school
6-12 months experience working ! in a hospital or ambulatory surgery environment or may have equivalent combination of education and/or experience
WA State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
Good oral and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to analyze/problem solve
Computer skills
Medical terminology and an understanding of basic anatomy and physiology
Knowledge of surgical equipment, supplies and instrumentation
Ability to work under stress in a fast-paced environment and as a team player
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working in Perioperative Services, Central Sterile Processing and/or providing direct patient care in an acute area
