The Data Integrity Analyst will provide analysis, data clean-up, recommendations for change, and operational support for all Swedish Medical Center sites to maintain data integrity in the Provider Master File (PMF) of the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
This position will be responsible for coordinating efforts with organization wide, cross-functional teams, including IS and Medical Staff Services to ensure accuracy of the Provider Master File data, including Primary Care Provider (PCP) status and Minimum Data Set information.
A primary function of this role is to develop and run reports and audits that assess PCP assignment data quality.
The analyst will develop and document methodologies for collecting information about errors in the Provider Master File, and for correcting those errors and maintaining the accuracy of the file. The analyst will contact SMC staff, affiliate personnel and providers as needed.
The Data Integrity Analyst will identify workflows that put Provider Master File data (including PCP) at risk, recommend workflow changes, recommend changes to policies and procedures, and articulate training needs to department leadership
Demonstrated course success or degree related health information management, health information technology, health care delivery or health care management from an accredited college preferred. Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) credential through the American Health Information Association is preferred. If no credential must be enrolled in a certification RHIT or RHIA certification program
- Minimum of three years experience in healthcare required, acute care preferred.
- Prior experience in patient access, medical records, or healthcare operations strongly preferred.
- At least two years experience with an enterprise or large system EHR required. Epic experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and learn quickly with strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated analytical skills: ability to analyze complex tasks/systems/problems, determines possible solutions, and coordinate, implement and evaluate most effective correction or solution
- Demonstrated ability to create and prepare analytical reports extracting specific data. Working knowledge of Crystal Reports or SQL queries strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Visio preferred
- Knowledge of hospital registration processes preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members, operational managers, colleagues, and stakeholders to analyze problems and propose recommended solutions that meet both administrative and technical needs
- Ability to work effectively with external affiliate organizations where there is little or no direct authority
- Ability to manage and work on multiple projects at the same time
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across a wide range of audiences
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written communication and presentation skills
