Responsibilities:
The Pharmacy Student Intern is a student currently enrolled in an accredited college of pharmacy and licensed by the Washington State Department of Health. Working under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist or Pharmacy Clinical Manager, the Pharmacy Student Intern performs all functions of a Pharmacy Technician and other assigned pharmacy functions. Assigned responsibilities are consistent with the individualâs training and experience and with the law.
Qualifications:
Education Background
Current enrollment in an ACPE accredited college of pharmacy.
Licensure, Registration, Certification
Current licensure as a pharmacy intern in the state of Washington
Special Training/Skills
Effective communication skills (verbal, written).
Able to effectively interact with staff, physicians, pa! tients, and visitors.
Active membership encouraged in professi! onal organizations such as ASHP, and WSSHP.
Demonstrates professional development through appropriate research and learning activities.
Able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients serviced on his or her assigned unit.
Work Experience
Hospital experience or volunteer preferred.
Pharmacy Technician experience preferred.
Physical Abilities
Must have the manual dexterity sufficient for typing and medication preparation for dispensing, including preparation of IV additives.
