The University of Washington offers two outstanding opportunities for an Advanced Practice Provider (ARNP or PA-C) to join our Region! al Heart Center team at the University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC) campus. These are faculty positions employed by the Department of Surgery, UW School of Medicine. UWMC is operated by the University of Washington and serves as a training site for the UW School of Medicine. The Cardiothoracic Surgery Inpatient ARNP or PA-C position is an outstanding opportunity for an Advanced Practice Provider (ARNP or PA-C) with a cardiothoracic surgery and cardiology knowledge base. Cardiothoracic Surgery at UWM Regional Heart Center serves the most varied and complex adult population of coronary, valvular, aortic and adult congenital heart disease patients in the entire Northwest, drawing from a 6 â"state region. Our Advanced Heart Failure, Transplant and Mechanical Circulatory Support (VAD & Total Artificial Heart) program is developing into one of the top ! 3 West Coast centers for this integrated service. This positio! n will use an extensive cardiac knowledge base, physical examination skills, diagnostic interventions and independent clinical judgment to provide superior patient care on the floor and in the clinic in collaboration with the cardiac surgeons and fellow/residents within the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery. You will help manage the patientâs care pre-op, in-patient, discharge and post-op clinic visits. You will work to implement care plans, guide the house staff and continually evaluate the post-surgery patient. The role requires the highest level of collaboration for all team members to insure coordination and continuity of care for patients and referring providers.
Your strong ability to provide total patient case management will enable you to implement care plans towards the highest level of collaboration and continuity of care for patients in your care. The ARNP / PA-C role requires the highest level of expertise to insure the best outcomes for patients and! referring providers.

MINUMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR BOTH POSITIONS:
1. Current and valid state Registered Nurse Licensure with Masters Degree from an accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program or Certified as a Physician Assistant.
2. Certified by a national certifying organization as an ARNP or a Physician Assistant with State of Washington licensure with prescriptive authority
3. Proven excellence working in an interdisciplinary collaborative team environment
4. Effective interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and clinical expertise in patient care.
5. Prior experience in ! cardiovascular and/or cardiology clinic and inpatient care is preferred! .
