Responsibilities:
The Certified Nursing Assistant for the Surgical Unit assists licensed nurses (or their designees) by performing tasks involving patient care, treatment, and maintenance of the nursing unit.

Qualifications:
Education Background

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Satisfactory completion of an approved C.N.A training program and certification.

Licensure, Registration, Certification

Certified as a C.N.A in the State of Washington.

BLS is required.

Work Experience

Minimum of 1 year in Acute patient care settings.

Special Training/Skills

Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with staff, physicians, patients and families.

Able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care app! ropriate to the age of the patients served on assigned unit/department.!

Physical Abilities

Must be able to handle a fluctuating workload.

Able to safely maneuver patients and supplies.

This job requires ability to communicate clearly in English (verbal and written) with all stakeholders (providers, caregivers, patients, family members) for the effective treatment of patients.

Physical Demand Level: Heavy
In an 8-hour workday, must be able to-
Lift / Carry

50 to 100 pounds occasionally

25 to 50 pounds frequently

10 to 20 pounds constantly

A s required, must be able to -

Sit, Stand, Walk, Bend, Squat, Kneel, Crawl, Climb and Reach above shoulders

Push and Pull

Perform fine motor functions

Must possess functional vision, hearing, and speech in order to communicate effectively with clients, client advocates, and staff.
