This Civilian Pharmacist position is primarily located at Naval Hospital Bremerton (NHB) Pharmacy Department in Bremerton, Washington, with potential to work at local Branch Health Clinics occasionally. NHB is a community-based, acute care and obstetrical hospital offering expert primary care, emergency care, and a broad range of medical and surgical specialties. As a Pharmacist at NHB you will provide inpatient and outpatient dispensing of all pharmaceuticals, participate in the medication management of patients in the assigned patient care areas, as well as monitor and evaluate the quality and effectiveness of pharmacotherapy in the medical center. - The position may require on-site workin! g hours for different areas of pharmacy practice, rotating shi! fts, weekends and holiday coverage to support a 24/7 pharmacy service.

In this position, the incumbent will perform meaningful professional work in the field of Pharmacy. Major duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Serving as a staff pharmacist with responsibilities for assignment in the clinical, consultative, teaching, and distributive areas.
- Providing direct inpatient and outpatient pharmacy care and services for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Interpreting prescriptions, computing dosages, wei! ghing and measuring drugs and mixing and compounding drugs and chemicals.
- Resolving problems related to the clinical, chemical and therapeutic application of drugs, including pharmaceutical efficacy, utilization of new therapeutic agents and special formula and dosage requirements.
- Interpreting prescriptions and dispensing products prescribed which require accuracy in dosage and identification of therapeutic incompatibilities to avoid serious injury or death to the patient.
- Reviewing patient health records for therapeutic appropriateness including: diagnosis, treatment, patient allergies and medication compatibility with other current medications (i.e. drug-drug interaction screening).

All applicants must meet the following requirements:
1. Degree: Bachelor's degree in pharmacy or PharmD degree recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).
2. Licensure: Your resume must indicate you possess a full, current and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, Territory, Commonwealth of the United States (i.e. Puerto Rico), or the District of Columbia. Make sure your resume reflects the state that awarded your license and the date (be prepared to provide a photocopy of your license upon request).
3. Experience: Applicants must have one or more years of experience working as a professional pharmacist performing progressively responsible duties or equivalent education to be minimal! ly qualified for this position. Examples of this experience include the following: Independently carrying out pharmacy functions, including formulating, preparing, compounding, bulk compounding, selecting, dispensing and preserving drugs, medicines, and chemicals; counseling patients regarding appropriate use of medications; monitoring and advising on drug therapy and use; and designing and conducting education programs for pharmacy technicians and other health care professionals,

Substitution of Education: Successful completion of a 6-year course of study leading to a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree.
