Minimum Skills and Knowledge Required:

• Standard 10 / Grade 12 or equivalent. • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Layout Artist. • Experience in Amrod’s Layout department will be advantageous. • Above average verbal and written English communications skills to communicate professionally with customers and internally, both telephonically and by email is essential. • Excellent Corel Draw and Adobe Suite. • Knowledge of Skills Development legislation will be advantageous. • Sound knowledge and understanding of Layout processes. • Ability to impart knowledge to others.

Brief Description of Key Performance Areas:

• Liaise with marketing regarding new products, specifically those selected for the catalogue. • Liaise with Research and Development with regards to acceptable branding methods on products selected for the catalogue. • Create branding guidelines for Sales and clients in line with the approved branding specifications for the new products. • Create simple guides for the catalogue. • Create logo24 guides for selected products. • Redraw products for Layout purposes. • Update existing guides when changes to previously approved branding methods and positions etc. • Add and update “need to know” notes on products and branding specials. • Record the information in an easy to find manner on the server. • Compile trends of where we could improve and address these areas with employees/ management. • Handle projects As and when required in line with the function. • Assist with testing of system builds that touch your key areas (Layouts and job cards). • Adhere to health and safety requirements and ensure compliance at all times. • Assist in other positions and/or departments in accordance to operational requirements. • Report unsafe acts / working conditions / injury on duty to the supervisor immediately. • Improve and maintain good housekeeping and hygiene standards at all times.
