POSITION SUM! MARY:
The Perioperative Services Medical Director will! be responsible for the development of the overall leadership structure, strategic plan, quality, and plans for growth for surgical services. The Medical Director will maintain expertise in program and financial aspects of preoperative services, including Pre-Anesthesia, Pre-Operative, Operating Room, PACU, Sterile Processing and the GI Lab.
Responsible for the overall administration of Perioperative programs in accordance with accepted national standards, federal and state laws as well as hospital and departmental policies. Directs and provides oversight for all activities for the Department of Perioperative Services which includes staffing and resource utilization.
Develops and implements budgets, policies, planning, technical operations, and equipment acquistion. Participates in monitoring compliance with State and Federal regulations as well as JCAHO standards. The Medical Director will also facilitate cohesive, amiable, and productive working relation! ships amoung all groups involved in perioperative services â€" surgeons, anestheseiologists, staff, and nursing leadership.
The Medical Director will serve as the Chairperson of the Perioperative Executive Committee to ensure an effective perioperative program. All individuals in this group will have specific responsibilities to ensure their part of the program works effectively, and joint/team responsibilities to ensure all parts integrate effectively to achieve the goals of the surgery program.
The Medical Director of Perioperative Services has 24 hour responsibility for coordination of patient care and supervision of personnel in both Bremerton and Silverdale Campuses. Responsible for promoting a safe environment for the patients by assuring personnel are educated and competent, supplies and equipment are available and functioning properly for procedures, assuring compliance with regulatory bodies are met. Actively promotes a team environment with the p! hysicians and staff, facilitating communication between them. Promotes ! and bulids strong relationships with physicians throughout the organziation and the community. Fosters a team approach in collaborating between departments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Medical Degree and residency training in anesthesia or surgery.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
WA State Medical License and Board Certification in Anesthesia, Surgery or Surgical sub-specialty.
Advanced degree in business or administration preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
3 years active medical staff in Surgery and 5 years of management experience in Surgery.
