Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, the QI Data Analyst supports hospital-wide clinical and operational quality initiatives, and daily operations related to Quality Improvement within the Decision Support and Quality departments. ! Assists various clinical/quality teams and projects by coordinating dat! a extraction from multiple sources, developing reports and presentations, and providing both detailed and high level analyses.
Qualifications:
Education Background
Bachelor’s degree required.
Licensure, Registration, Certification
None required.
Work Experience
2 years analysis experience is required, preferably in a hospital setting.
Special Training / Skills
Thorough knowledge of MS Office Suite®: Access, Excel, Power Point, Visio, Project and Word. Must be proficient in use of MS Access and Excel, including macros, pivot tables, VB coding, external data connections, and the Excel Analysis Tool Kit. Also possesses familiarity with QI Macros or equivalent statistical analysis software.
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, and Reporting Services, Crystal/other reporting tools, SharePoint and web publishing tools, McKesson Trendstar and HPM/HBI preferred.
Experience in clinical informati! cs, medical terminology and coding (ICD/CPT/HCPCS), and healthcare regulatory requirements preferred.
Knowledge of research methodology, principles, & procedures, data management, and bio-statistical analyses including statistical process control.
Ability to design, implement and maintain systems necessary to retrieve, analyze, report, and file data; skilled in graphic development and presentation.
Thorough knowledge of describing data, testing hypotheses and examining relationships among variables.
Ability to generate reports from various software programs and databases, using quantitative and qualitative data in performance measurement and improvement.
Ability to deliver effective written and oral reports and presentations.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of data and information as required.
Requires ability to plan, organize and work on multiple tasks at one time.
Requires deep concentration for a large volume of work that must be comp! leted within a limited period of time to meet deadlines for reporting. !
