Summit Veterinary Referral Center is a rapidly growing veterinary specialty hospital based in Tacoma, Washington. This progressive hospital currently employs a diverse team of over 150 veterinary doctors, nurses and support staff amongst our Cardiology, Critical Care/Emergency, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Radiology, and Surgery departments. The Role
Since our inception in 2010, Summit has expanded our practice location 3 times to facilitate an over 8-fold growth in patients. Our Hospital is currently planning an expansion of over 15,000 sqft to allow us to meet the needs of our current patients while expanding the capabilities of the hospitalâs care and services.
Summit is looking for a passionate project coordinator to oversee our expansion and help Summit achieve our next major objective becoming the Puget Soundâs leader in patient care and client service. This is a full time position with an expected duration of 18-24 months. Salary commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
Work with the COO and Partnership to represent Summitâs interests in expansion with our Architect and Contractor.
Participate in programming, development, permitting, contractor and vendor selection, and all other construction-related activities from commencement through completion.
Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
Work with Contractor to plan events appropriately and ensure that impacts on existing practice are minimized.
Manage Summitâs expansion budget and ensure that project is delivered on-time and within scope.
Identify risks and hazards associated with the expansion and work with COO to mitigate as necessary.
Ensure regulatory compliance on all expansion-related items.
Perform routine quality-control assurance with the Architect and Contractor.
Ensure that comprehensive documentation, record keeping, contracts and other project-related materials are maintained.
Track and analyze projectsâ performance, expenditures, procurement and report about any possible or current blockers, risks, overflows, deficits
Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
Work with management on resource planning, availability and allocation according to phase of project.
Based on provided scope and requirements translate them into assignable, scheduled tasks.
Communicate to the management changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs as they may arise.
Track and analyze project performance, cost performance, schedule and report to the management on the changes project scope, project schedule, and project costs, being able to suggest the improvements to all the above.
Report and escalate to management as needed.
Close project and documentation, pass project deliverables to operations.
Requirements
Experience managing construction projects in excess of $5M in value.
Experience in healthcare or veterinary development preferred.
Bachelorâs degree or applicable Project Management certifications required.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to work well with large and diverse teams.
Ability to work under pressure.
Experience with task scheduling and resource assignment.
Experience with project management practices and tools to create, manage, and track project performance, cost, verify scope.
Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
Experienced user of MS Office toolset (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
