The Dentist will provide quality dental care for Neighborcare Health patients and promote patient responsibility for oral health by educating patients about oral disease and its prevention. The Dentist will deliver care in a compassionate manner and as efficiently as possible. Clinical
Treat all patients in a non-discriminatory manner. Perform general dentistry, including restorative, oral surgery, periodontics, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Perform preventive dentistry and patient education. Triage and provide emergency care in accordance with Neighborcare Health’s emergency policies and procedures. Provide appropriate follow-up. Handle emergency medical situations that may occur in a dental setting. Review patient electronic dental records (EDR) daily. Determine and communicate, in ! advance, special needs requests to appropriate staff in order ! to facilitate patient care. Review updated medical histories in electronic health records (HER) in at each visit.
Consult with patient’s physicians when patient is medically compromised. Chart all pathologic conditions and report finding to the patient. Develop a treatment plan. Prioritize treatment, first eliminating pain and frank oral infection. Explain the course of treatment and treatment options to the patient. Ensure the patient’s input and active involvement in plan. Treatment plans should be realistically based and balanced between our limited clinical resources and funding and the desires of the patient. Refer patient for specialty care when appropriate
Enter treatment rendered in patient treatment record in accordance to clinic charting procedures. Record completed treatment in EDR.
Required Experience
Current Washington State Dentist License. Current DEA Registration for prescription of controlled substances.
