Shift: Days Shift Hours: Variable 0630 â" 1500 and 0830 â" 1700 Job Type: Fullâ"time Onâ"Call Required: Yes Rotating Weekends: Yes Rotating Holidays: Yes Description POSITION SUMMARY: Registered nurses are responsible for prescribing, delegating, coordinating and evaluating the nursing care of adult patients, 14 years and older. (L & D â" patients of childbearing age; Pediatrics â" patients from newborn to 14 years of age; Nursery â" normal and special care newborns. CCD/ED â" Nursing care is not limited in age.) The registered nurse is directly accountable and responsible for the quality of nursing care rendered. Acceptance of the conditions of Addendum A, Twelve (12) Hour Work Schedule, of the collective bargaining agreement.

LICENSE / CERTIFICATION / REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED: We accept licensure as a Washington State RN as a basic level of competency. BLS certification. ACLS/PALS required based on area of assignment.
NRP required based on area of assignment. CONTINUING EDUCATION & COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS: Continuing education & license renewal required annually; yearly educational day (YED) and other requirements as determined by the Director, Acute Care Services. Fetal monitoring course every two years for Labor & Delivery RN's Population Specific continuing competency requirements: Knowledge and expertise in providing care to assigned population EXPE! RIENCE REQUIRED: Must have previous related experience Certification as a health care interpreter in languages other than English a plus (Spanish, Mam, sign, etc.) Additional Requirements for Emergency Department: Must have recent emergency nursing experience within the last 2â"5 years. Active ACLS, PALS or ENPC and TNCC (TNCC for Bremerton only) provider certification required.
ED triage experience beneficial. OR presently in an Emergency Department RN Residency program in which the mentioned certifications will be obtained within the next year. Additional Requirements for Oncology: Need a compassionate RN (preferably with Chemo provider card) to care for Oncology Patients. Additional Requirements for PACU: At least one year of recent recovery room, ER or ICU experience required.
Must meet minimum job requirements. Call, weekend and holiday rotation required. Will train RN with strong med/surg/tele/stepâ"down unit experience. ACLS required.
! PALS strongly desired. Additional Experience for Surgery: RN candid! ate must have strong surgical circulator skills in General, Ortho, Vascular, and Urology. Must have high clinical standards, effective communication skills and be able to work harmoniously with a diverse team. Must have WA licensure.
Some Call coverage is required. Additional Requirements for Cath Lab: Cath and angio/interventional radiology experience preferred. ACLS required. Onâ"call requirements: must live within 30 minutes of hospital.
Moderate sedation experience preferred. Requirements for 2SE Subacute/Stepdown: ACLS preferred. Telemetry experience and recent acute care experience preferred with a focus on Respiratory, Stroke and/or Cardiac disease. Additional Requirements for 3W Orthopaedics: Must have at least 2 years recent acute care experience preferably in orthopedics or an interest in orthopedics with a desire to become orthopedic certified.
Experience in telemetry. Ability to work in a patient centered team approach. Additional Req! uirements for 4W Med/Surg: ACLS, BLS mandatory. MSCRN certifications preferred.
Two years experience in one of the following areas: surgical floor, acute care medical surgical or skilled long term care. Experience in telemetry. Additional Requirements for PCU: ACLS, BLS mandatory. PCCN certification preferred.
Experience in telemetry and post open heart recovery. Previous ICU/PCU experience. Additional Requirements for ICU: ACLS, BLS mandatory. CCRN and TNCC preferred.
Additional Requirements for Float Team: Experienced RN with ACLS. Willing to work in a fast paced acute care environment. PCU/ICU experience preferred and a willingness to float to ICU areas. Must also be willing to float to all areas of hospital.
Must be ready to work in a fastâ"paced environment and in a state of continual learning. Individual must be selfâ"motivated and a team player. Additional Requirements for 3N and 2S Med/Surg: ACLS preferred. Telemet! ry experience and recent acute care experience preferred.
May ! substitute two years of nursing home experience in a Medicare unit, or one year of nursing home experience in a Medicare unit and a senior preceptorship in PCU, ICU or ER. Additional Requirements for Labor and Delivery: BLS, NRP and L&D experience. Additional Requirements for Home Health: Prefer previous Home Health exprience. One year experience in acute environment.
Additional Requirements for Wound Care: BSN or ADN with a bachelors degree in a related field. Wound and/or Ostomy certification preferred, and required within 2 years of hire. Documents needs, education provided, and outcome of education. Initiates patient specific discharge planning on admission and updates daily. Ensures smooth transfer process through appropriate assessment, communication and documentation needs. Is proactive in anticipating patient needs prior to discharge date to ensure complex patient needs are met.
(ex: PICC line placement and medication administration education to patient and family) Ensures a safe environment by keeping work and patient areas orderly and clear of obstacles. Uses proper transfer techniques and body mech! anics. Is viewed as an expert on all lifting devices. Documents all com! ponents of the nursing process according to Harrison Medical Center charting Standards.

Utilizes patient Bill of Rights as a guide in assisting patients and families in making ethical decisions. Demonstrates hospital and unit specific clinical competencies.
Successfully completes annu! al skills checklist within specified timeframe. Provides staff educatio! n in clinical specialty. Is seen as a clinical expert by peer reviews. Assists in verification of skill competency with completion of annual skills checklist.
Completes all forms accurately e.g. OARS (Online Alert Reporting System), SOS (Service Excellence Online System), equipment checklists e.g crash carts. Assures that patient acuities are completed and reported at designated time. Stays informed in unit specific Performance Improvement Project and contributes information to documentation.
Participates in unit specific QI project. Demonstrates economy in the use of all equipment and supplies. Demonstrates fiscal accountability by ensuring patient procedure and supply charges are captured and documented daily. Communicates recommendations that result in cost containment.
Attends, contributes and documents a minimum of 75% of staff meetings per year in addition to YED, Safety Carnival and CPR. Emergency Departmentâ" Misses no more than one staff! meeting annually. If one meeting is missed, is responsible for the content of the meeting, through reading meeting minutes, or meeting with supervisor or peer to review material presented and discussed at the meeting. Attends, documents, and contributes to 90% of the staff meetings a year.
Communicates in a caring and professional manner, while maintaining open communications with patients, family, coâ"workers and medical staff.
