Description

The Orthopedic (Ortho) RN's primary responsibility is to develop a safe plan of care and appropriate ! treatment for patients with musculoskeletal conditions and/or who are undergoing orthopedic surgery.

Responsibilities include:

• Utilizes telephone interviewing, physical assessment and critical thinking in assessing patient symptoms or lifestyle changes in conjunction with GHC guidelines and protocols to determine appropriate patient plans of care.
• Provides ongoing education to patients regarding lifestyle and dietary adjustments associated with orthopedic therapies and/or surgeries.
• Works collaboratively with the patient to promote patient self management

Qualifications

Education Requirements

Minimum: Graduate of an accredited RN program

Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure / Certification requirements

Minimum: Valid/Current Washington State Registered Nurse License

Preferred: Ortho RN Certification

Experie! nce Requirements

Preferred: 1-2 years experien! ce in Orthopedics, Wound care Experience
