The Med/Surg Registered Nurse provides adult nursing care before and after medical procedur! es, which may vary greatly in the daily case load; the healthcare setting for this R.N. travel nurse job may vary as well. Med Surg travel nurses work, in hospitals, out-patient clinics, specialty surgery centers, home health and long-term care facilities. Among medical-surgical RN responsibilities are daily assessments and post surgical assessments on patients and their wounds, this will include would care as well as post surgical care. Additionally, medical-surgical registered nurses continuously assess for changes in patient's health status and use Information to evaluate and change or continue with the patient treatment plan for this admission. This R.N. travel nursing job requires nurses to administer medication and all other routine aspects of patient care. Medical-surgical nurses maintain a higher patient caseload than intensive care nurses, and must be compassionate and good at communicating in order to serve their patients well.
